Question: At moment have swelling infection right upper lid. Also red"scar" left outer lower lid. There is a greyish XXXXXXX about 1 cm growing along XXXXXXX of top eyelids. Both seem to be increasing. Is there any way I can stop this discolouration and growth?
I am bathing right eyelid, cleaning roots of upper and lower lids and using non preservative eye drops.
What do I need to do. What is the most effective treatment?
Brief Answer:
Kindly provide photo of infected eye lid...
Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,
Can you please upload a picture of your infected upper lid? That can help me assist your better.
I usually prescribe the following to my patients with the same infections as yours:
Step 1 : Wash your eye lids with warm water and baby shampoo (1 portion shampoo and 5 portions water). You can use ear cotton buds to clean the inner part of the lids
Step 2. Rinse well with water only
Step 3: Rinse with chamomile tea
Step 4 : Apply tetracycline cream
Looking forward to have the photo of infected eye lid to give more specific second opinion!
Thank you!

Thank you for your treatment suggestions. The swelling in top right lid has subsided a lot with only a hint of the redness and some pus corner of eye this am. You did not address the discolouration especially arcing the top lids and the redness in the outer corner bottom left lid. Also my eyes look as though I've not slept for a month. Very drooping liDs in spite of tsosis procedure twelve months ago. Had cataract op on 10th December - left eye only - still under observation for dry eye and cornea healing. Is there an end to this and should I just be patient or seek a second opinion here at home where direct observation might reveal any other problems associated with what I am experiencing at present?
Brief Answer:
Still no photo received...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back my dear,
My opinion is based only on your saying as I did not receive any photo of your swollen eye. Based on info you provided, I can only admit that you might be suffering of infection of eye lid.
It is crucial to start local antibiotic treatment. If I was your caring doctor would advise culture of the pus coming from your eyelid to determine the right antibiotic to use.
Further physical examination and evaluation by an ophthalmologist is needed to start treatment as soon as possible.
Hope it helped!
