What Causes Swelling And Pain In Penis Head After Sexual Intercourse?

?candidiasis/? herpes genitalis
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I understand that you have developed pain and swelling on the glans penis and the prepuce ( skin) 3 days after intercourse.
The possibilities I would consider in such a case include genital herpes, candidiasis and contact dermatitis.
1. Was it protected or unprotected intercourse?
2. Did you notice any blisters/ small ulcerations on the penis / foreskin?
3. Had you come in contact with any irritants / allergens like a lubricating jelly?
4. Have you had such an episode before?
5. Did your partner have white vaginal discharge?
You have a feature to upload the images by yourself at the right side of the query page, please utilize that so that I can answer your query better. You can also send the image as attachment to YYYY@YYYY , with the subject as 'Attn: Dr. Johny Chacko'.

1. It was an unprotected oral intercourse.
2. There was no ulceration on the penis or foreskin neither any blisters.
3. No contact with irritants/allergens etc.
4. & 5. My partner had no vaginal discharge or any of the STD symtoms.
I had oral sex with a professuonal & soon developed irritation in the urethra and penis swelling. I went to see my doctor (STD specialisit) who gave me mascular injections for three days. (Twice a day) but before that i had contact with my wife. My symtoms subsided but when i had contact with my wife again i got this penis swelling & irritation on the tip of the penis. My wife however has no symtoms at all.
Candidial balanoposthitis
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your clarifications.
I have gone through your clinical photographs.
It looks like a case of Balanoposthitis ( inflammation of the glans and foreskin), a common cause of which is Candida ( a fungal yeast).
You could apply a cream containing Clotrimazole ( e.g.- Candid cream) twice a day for 2 weeks.
You could take a tablet containing Fluconazole 150 mg as a single dose. Your partner should also be treated with the same single dose of oral Fluconazole.
Keep the area dry and clean.
Hope this has answered your query.
Wishing you good health,
Dr. Johny Chacko

No. Your partner needs to take only the tablet. She need not apply the cream.
