What Causes Swelling And Sticky Liquid Discharge From Penis?
Hello, I am seeking medical advice to see you you can help me find a medicine or at least tell me how to treat it. A couple of months ago out of nowhere i started to notice that the tip of my penis was swelling a lot, I didnt pay much attention at first, but now it been a while and it doesnt seem as if it will get better. I dont experience any pain or any kind of symptoms that i can think of. I did some research and i think that the part that is swollen is called "the meatus",i bought a cream called candid-b but i dont think it has helped a lot instead it seems as it is getting a little worse, and one more thing, it seems that over the past week or so my pinis has started to lubricate a lot ( clear sticky liquid), it didnt happen to me before so i dont know if it is related to the same problem. Please let me know and thank you.

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,
I have read your query and understand the concern.
From the facts you have posted here,it could be balanitis or balanoposthitis (infection of glans penis) but I will be able to say exactly only after visual inspection of the glans.
Here I will also want to rule out phimosis (tight foreskin) if you are not circumscribed.
So,can you please take a clinical photograph of the affected part and upload as there is a feature to send images on the right side of query page.
It would be helpful for me to arrive at a certain conclusion.
Also let me know if is there is any history of unprotected intercourse in recent past?
Awaiting your response.

Hello,
Welcome again,
Based on the facts and pictures that you have shared here,it is likely to be due to infection of glans penis (balanitis or balanoposthitis).
Since you are NOT sexually active, there is NO chances of STD now.
Gently retract the foreskin and soak in warm water to clean penis and foreskin.
Avoid using soaps as they may irritate the skin and make the inflammation worse. Also no need to worry about clear fluid discharge which is likely a smegma.
You will need broad spectrum antibiotics small course (like cefixime 200 mg) twice daily for 3 to 4 days and topical antibiotic with steroid cream/ointment like clobetasol and Neosporin (brand name Clovate-N or Tenovate-N) for local application over glans because you have already tried Betamethasone and Clotrimazole (candid-b) combination.
Clobetasol is more potent than betamethasone and here I do not think there is any need to apply anti-fungal drug like clotirmazole.
However for oral antibiotic, you will need to see some local doctor or your family physician, who will prescribe you.
We can expect that you will start improving within 5 to 7 days with this ointment applications.
Or in case,if swelling persists even after 1 week of treatment, you should consult a dermatologist and get evaluated further. You may need some tests to determine the cause of the infection.
Hope this helps,
Thanks and Regards,
