What Causes Swelling And Wrinkles On White Part Of Eye?

default
Posted on Wed, 26 Nov 2014
Question: The white of the outside of my right eye appears wrinkled, swollen & gel like looking. Also, my eye is very watery. I use Retasis regularly for dry eye & use Systane moisture drops.

Could this condition be caused from eye cosmetics? Is this serious & should I go to my opthamalagist but it is Sunday so obviously the office is closed today? What is your advice & I do not want to go to emergency as they are not qualified.

Brief Answer:
Dry eye

Detailed Answer:
My Dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
We do not want you to rush to emergency as this is due to dry eye that you are already being treated for.If there was any pain ,that would suggest infllamation which would require anti infllamatory drops. This ,as it does not have any pain would be contrlled by lubricant drops and astrigent drops like visine drops if they would be available to you today.
For the time being you should continue with lubricant drops and use visine drops if avilable.
Continue with this and do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.
