Brief Answer:
Insect bite or pyoderma
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome to HCM.
Can understand your concerns.
I have seen the pictures that you have sent, it looks like that there is redness and swelling at the scrotal region.
This can happen due to insect bite or pyoderma (bacterial infection of skin).
In my opinion, you should give
- antibiotic like syrup amoxyclav for 3 days
- for relieving itching syrup atarax for 3 days
- apply locally mupirocin cream three times a day for 3 days.
However, since this is a prescription medicine, I suggest you to meet the local doctor to confirm the diagnosis.
I hope this will help you.
Take care.

Hi Doc
Thank you for writing to me.
The swelling is not constant all the time. it appears for some 20 mins to 30 mins and then becomes flat. he does not have any itching or pain. he is not crying because of that too. I think it is not due to any insect bite. I would request you to probe / check alternative
Thanks in advance.

Brief Answer:
Could be allergic rash
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome once again to HCM.
Insect bite lesion usually remains and it heals slowly over 2 to 3 days.
So, it's not an insect bite.
Other possibility is of allergic rash which could be due to diaper or wet nappy.
I suggest you to start only mupirocin cream locally.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
An examination is a must
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome once again to HCM.
In hydrocele, there is swelling at the scrotal region which continues to increase over time. There is no rash.
In henia, there is swelling at the inguinal region (at groin region) which increases whenever child applies pressure and it decrease when pressure is less. Over the time the swelling reaches upto scrotum and the swelling increases while coughing or standing position. there is no rash.
I suggest you to go to a doctor and get the child examined as hernia and hydrocele can only be diagnosed by picture at late stages or when they are large.
Take care.
