Brief Answer:
Few possible causes

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM,I have thoroughly reviewed health query you raised, and well realize all of those concerns.
First ,if this happened suddenly then you should go to ER since it may be sign of heart failure. if this lasts for longer period then it may indicate congestive heart disorder, kidney disorder or less common liver disease. If this occurs just in one leg then this can be sign of venous insufficiency. in every case you need to reduce salt intake, avoid long standing, measure your blood pressure frequently and see doctor if there is no improvement.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Wish you good health. Regards
