Sinus can get infected from upper tooth.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Maxillary sinus can get infected from upper tooth problems. So in your case it can be most likely left maxillary sinusitis. Complications from sinusitis like cellulitis can also cause swelling on face.
So better to consult an ENT specialist to rule out this. He/she may ask you to do paranasal sinus x ray examination to rule out this. Puncture and drainage of sinus and broad spectrum antibiotics like Co-amoxiclav or injection with cefotaxim and gentamycin will be required in such case.
Flonase is corticosteroid which doesn't act as decongestant. Using decongestant nasal sprays like xylometazoline (otrivin) may give yo comfort.
NSAIDs like Ibuprofen , nasal decongestants like xylometazoline (otrivin) nasal spray and antihistamine like cetirizine (zyrtec) may give you relief. These are available as over the counter. Steam inhalation with inhalent caps (karvol plus) will be soothing also. But if no improvement broad spectrum antibiotic like Co-amoxiclav will be required and for that you can approach your doctor.
Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
