What Causes Swelling In Feet And Legs?

Question: husband has swelling in feet and legs, making it hard for him to get around, can you suggest what to do?
Brief Answer:
needs to take lasix
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
Your husband is having problems with swelling of his legs. This is possibly due to a number of conditions including congestive heart failure. I would recommend that he take his lasix as prescribed by his provider. The swelling will not improve until he takes his medication as directed.
He can try staying in bed with his legs elevated but then he would not be able to get anything done.
He can also try reducing the salt in his diet. Avoid sodium products like potato chips, pickles and canned vegetables.
