What Causes Swelling In The Finger After Injury?
Question: hi I'm XXXXXXX I have a right pinkie finger that is swollen from the nail to the first joint. could it be possible to have a dislocated finger.
Brief Answer:
Can be a displaced joint or fracture.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The swelling of the finger from nail to first joint can be due to a hematoma caused by an injury. If it is too painful to move then a dislocation is likely. This can be confirmed only after an X-ray of the affected finger.
I hope this answers your query.

Brief Answer:
Mild swelling only.
Detailed Answer:

i have seen the attached image. it is a mild swelling likely to be due to an inflammation. No color changes are there. Any major injury or dislocation is less likely.
