What Causes Swelling In The Upper Lip?

default
Posted on Wed, 31 May 2017
Question: After I ate lunch today my upper lip swelled up kind of bad. It's not going away and I have never encountered a food allergy before. I can go to my doctor but they are closed now. I am 39 years old and I have rarely encountered food allergies. Do I need to see a doctor tonight? Or can it wait?

Brief Answer:
Keep monitoring your symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HealthcareMagic,

I can understand your concern,

Yes, it might be an allergic reaction with this symptom even you don't have any idea till now.

For this, you can take antihistamines like Levocetirizine (eg.Xyzal tab) once daily until you see your doctor.

If the situation gets worse with difficulty in breathing you should get immediately the medical help in the ER department.

In my opinion, according to the history, you will not need it but to be safe better to know what to do further if at all happens.

I wish you a fast recovery and feel free to ask me again
