Swelling of wrist and ankles can occur due to a number of reasons and further details are required for clarification. The first thing is to ask is how long you have been having this complaint? The second thing to ask is whether you have high blood pressure, since that could precipitate such a presentation. If you have not measured your blood pressure, please get it checked and let me know. Also mention if the swelling is associated with any other problems like pain.

There are a couple of tests that need to be done:
* Blood for fasting blood sugar
* Blood for uric acid level

I would also need to know if you are currently on any medication.
