What Causes Swelling On The Fingers And Feet?

Question: Hi Doctor, i have severe swelling from the first to second, and second to third joint of each finger. Ther is no swelling in the joints. This condition has been increasing for the past 10 years. The same is happening with my feet, it is not oedema as it does not pit. Have you any idea what could be causing this very restrictive condition please?

I have studied your case and it can be severe joint arthritis. It is due to many causes. For example low calcium or vitamin D 3 or rheumatoid arthritis. Before I advised you any thing I would like to know little detail of your illness.
1. Are you having pain in other joints also?
2. Is their any morning stiffness also ?
3. Are you also having Diabetes or Thyroid problem?

In answer to your questions Doctor.
1and 2: i am not experiencing any pain or stiffness.
3: Asi mentioned in my opening question all my Thyroid Function Tests are negative and i do not suffer from Diabetes.

Another symptom i have developed is severe sweating.

Hello
I have studied your case. I think you are having arthritis of the finger joint.I would recommend you to test your blood.
ESR CRP and RA rests
if these tests shows positive results then you need to meet a rheumatology expert. You need to start disease modifying drugs like HCQ or saaz.
if these tests are normal then it is osteoarthritis and it will need calcium and vitamin D therapy along with hot water fomentation.
