Posted on Tue, 2 Jun 2015
Question: Hi Doctor,
My daughter is now 10 months old, 2 days back she got swelling on left eye which became small buble now. We thought it will go by itself may be because of heat. Now it started on her right eye also.
I have attached the pics of both right and and left eye, please find the attachments and let me know is it something to be concerned of?

Brief Answer:
This looks like stye.

Detailed Answer:
Hi....this looks like stye bilaterally. This is an infection if the glands situated in that region. It needs antibiotic eye drops for the day and eye ointment for the night.

If I were your pediatrician I would have suggested Ciplox eye drops 1 drop in each eye every 6th hourly for 5 days during daytime and Ciplox eye ointment for night.

But as these are prescription drugs, I suggest you consult your pediatrician or opthalmologist.

Regards - Dr. Sumanth
