What Causes Swelling, Tingling And Numb Feeling On Soles Of Feet?

default
Posted on Fri, 13 Feb 2015
Question: I am experiencing swelling, tingling / numbness, (warm to touch, redness and ichy-ness) on the bottoms of both feet and now on the pads of my hands (near the wrist). This has occurred intermittently before but resolved itself in 24 hours, it was relegated to bottoms of the feet but now includes the hands/wrist/fingers. Now , this A.M. I started getting a fat lip, no the whole lower lip is totally swollen. I am on Advil and Benadryl to no avail.

now the swelling in my lip has spread throughout the lower jaw and up the sides of my head towards my ear. It appears to be subsiding but very concerning that this seems to randomly appear and spread. What if it appears next in a area that impedes my breathing? is this a auto-immune malfunction/disease?

Brief Answer:
most likely an allergic reaction.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I read carefully your query and understand your concerns.

Symptoms of swelling ,redness, itchiness in different parts of the body that appears and then subside withing hours are indicative for an allergic reaction.
It doesn't seem to be related to any autoimmune disease.
Something triggers this allergic reaction that might be foods, detergents etc.

A detailed medical history ,additional symptoms and findings ,detailed physical examination at the moment when such symptoms occur are essential for the diagnosis.
I would suggest to consult a physician for examination. You should run the allergic tests to determine the possible cause of the allergy.

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any other question or doubts to clarify.I will be happy to assist you further.

Kind regards,
