What Causes Swelling Under The Penis Tip?
Question: I've recently have had sex, and hove noticed that the skin on the head of my penis is gone, and there is swelling under the tip of my penis, what should i do?
Brief Answer:
Rule out STD
Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,
Thanks for the query. The first thing that needs to be done is rule out a sexually transmitted disease (STD) causing inflammatory changes; for this a physical examination will be required as well as the basic tests of HIV, syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhea. If there is positive values for either of these diseases, treat and notify the sexual partner.
Hope this helps, wish you the best,

Brief Answer:
Perhaps, but STD needs to be ruled out
Detailed Answer:
It is a possibility, but again, enlarged lymph nodes after sex may indicate the presence of an infection as well, so the aforementioned workup is reasonable.
Cheers

Thank you, i do have one more question, how much time should i wait after the swelling appeared for it to go away, or is that not a possibility without professional help?
Brief Answer:
Depends on the cause
Detailed Answer:
Even with some STD's the initial swelling may go away but that does not signify by any means that it is cured; the best course of action again is to be tested, gives you and your partner reassurance
Best regards
