Brief Answer:
Gum infection, scaling, gum astringent

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
As far as the swollen gum and bleeding gums is concerned, the possible cause can be secondary to the gum infection. Following accumulation of food debris, that will become hard resulting in formation of calculus, this results in gum infection and causes swelling and bleeding from gums while brushing.
Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get your teeth cleaned(scaling and root planing). After that, you can use gum astringent to prevent bleeding.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
