Question : Hi Dr. Grief, My daughter has been having swelling glands & sore throat. They did exrays of her chest & blood work. Everthing is pretty normal except that her platlets are a bit high. 441. That seems a bit high. Any idea on that? Thanks!

Thanks for your query.

Some infections can induce increase production of blood cells. Increase platelet count could be such an occurrence. Need not worry, it will come back to range within days. Do retest after a week from now to ascertain the same.
