Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HCM. Thank you for your question. I carefully read your query.
Well, if the local oedema (swelling) was in the same knee, then some compression to the local arterioles and capillaries may have been done and, therefore, it is normal that the temperature of the foot may be different from the other for some days. It is a transitional process until everything is stabilized. A good thing that anti-inflammatory drugs were taken, to treat the few signs of inflammation of the are.
However, based on your age of 70 years old, I would recommend a few tests:
- a complete blood count and a biochemical panel, especially the uric acid levels in the body
- an echo Doppler of the circulation arteries, arterioles, distal to the partition that has been swollen
- after these two tests have been carried out, depending on the result, a visit/consult with a rheumatologist, who can further address you to an orthopedic surgeon.
As for the high blood pressure treatment you are on, my opinion is that the two mentioned drugs are safe and effective to treat hypertension and, as long as blood pressure levels are under 140/90 mmHg, no further changes or additions should be made in this strategy of treatment.
I hope I was helpful. I am happy to help, if you have follow-up questions.
Best regards,
Dr. Meriton
