What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes In The Neck?
Detailed answer....
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
In most of the cases lymph nodes of cervical region ( neck area ) get enlarged because of some local infections like throat infections, ear infections, skin infections etc.
They get enlarged in response to the local inflammation and is absolutely normal and hence no meaning.
Such type of enlarged nodes get resolved of their own in couple of months once the local infection goes away and that is the reason your doctor has advised for biopsy after a gap of 2 months. However for peace of mind a fine needle aspiration can be done which is a very good investigation to find the cause for it in most of the cases,if not always.
Slightly raised blood counts do give indication of some local infection .
There is absolutely nothing to worry and can carry on with fine needle aspiration.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome o revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
