What Causes Swollen Lymph Nodes On The Left Side Of The Neck?

default
Posted on Fri, 18 Aug 2017
Question: Two nights ago I felt repeated biting on my hip. Somthing was caught in the waistband of my pjs. Today the bite area is larger with small blisters in it and it burns to the touch. Ive also noticed two large swollen lymph nodes , one on the left side of my neck and one on the right side of my groin running from my hip bone down. Are these related? And should I be concerned?

Brief Answer:
Infection?

Detailed Answer:
The lymph nodes enlarged need to be investigated if they are hard and rubbery. If they are a bit painful and not hard it could indicate lymphangitis due to the injury. You can get a dressing done and be in a course of antibiotics and watch if the lymph node enlargement settle. If they don't you can get them tested with FNAC investigation to find the possible cause.

The neck lymph node could indicate infection in the mouth due to ulcers or teeth infection. Do consult with a Dentist for the same.
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
