What Causes Swollen Throat, Swallowing Difficulty, Excessive Burping And Chest Tightness?

Question: This is a follow-up question

Three to four weeks ago I visited the doctor with:

1. A red swollen throat
2. Difficulty swallowing
3. A lot of burping, especially after eating
4. Mild chest tightness

I have been taking 40mg of Pantaprazole and now the burping, swallowing and chest feel better but not perfect. However my throat is still just as red and swollen. I also sometimes have a burnt taste in my throat, especially in the morning.

My question/convern is why is it taking this long to heal?

Brief Answer:
Severe reflux disorder.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for query.
Have gone through your question.

See you are taking pantoprazole 40 mg only which is too low a dose for a symptomatic patient.
So for faster recovery i would suggest you to take Esomeprazole(Nexium) 40 mg twice daily.
Results with Esomeprazole are much better then Pantoprazole.

Metallic taste in mouth and redness is due to acid reflux.Pantoprazole only controls production of acid and has no effect on reflux of acid.To control acid reflux take Domperidon 30 mg once daily.

Thanks!
