What Causes Swollen Tongue And Lips After Using Prednisolone Acetate And Ciprofloxacin?
Question: I had cataract surgery on 11-18. Was given prednisolone acetate and ciprofloxacin drops to put in eyes four times a day. Could these drops cause burning of the tongue an swollen and very red lips?
Brief Answer:
NO!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I've gone through your query in details,
It is very unlikely that these eye drops cause these symptoms that you have reported. If they persist, I'll suggest that you get the symptoms evaluated and your tongue examined by a doctor.
For now, avoid irritatiing substances as well as spicy/sour/too hot foods because they will make the symptoms worse. Apply vaseline to the lips. Also, please send an image of the lips to me for evaluation. You can simply upload/attach the images at the reports section.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more details if need be.
Regards
