What Causes Swollen Tooth During Pregnancy?

Question: My daughter is 8 wks pregnant with an infected wisdom tooth. It is swollen. She has taken 500 mg. of penicillin 12 times and tooth is stil swollen. She has been to dentist yesterday. Is it normal for penicillin not to have an effect yet?

It is not normal to have swollen tooth for so long as penicillin is a very effective drug so in my opinion you need to get a second opinion from a renowned dentist around.
It is not safe to carry tooth infection in pregnancy so you better act fast.
