What Causes Symptoms Of Weakness In Extremities, Swallowing Difficulty And Intermittent Twitching Of Muscles?
Question: Hello Doctor,
I have below major symptoms in my body.
1. Weakness in legs-Loosing stamina in both the legs
2. Weakness in legs-Loosing stamina in both the hands.
3. Difficulty in swallowing
4. Some times twitching in muscles.
It's started 4 years back after a hair line fracture in my left leg.Fracture was ok and after that i started feeling weakness in my left leg if i run some distances or if i walks some kilometers. That time i thought it could be a psychological effect due to the fracture and tried to ignore it.Since last 2 years the weakness got increased and in both the legs.
Last Sept-17 my father expired and after that weakness in legs and hands increased a lot.
I also started loosing the muscles in hands and legs.
In the span of 3-4 years I also loose weight of around 7-8 kg.
In last Oct i consulted a neurologist and he said it is a case of mysthania gravis and tried treating me with steroid.
Treatment was not successful.I got more weak after the treatment.
I started getting balancing problem in my legs.In little stuck in legs i started falling down in the ground.
After repeated failure in mysthania gravis treatment I consulted a Neurologist in XXXXXXX XXXXXXX After certain tests they said it is a potential case of Motor Neuron diseases(MND) and no recommended medicine available for this disease.
Could you please analyse my case Sir and let me know if any medication is available in ayurveda to treat this disease.
All my reports are attached.

Further necessary information
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I'm of the following opinion:
1. Since it was diagnosed as a case of MND thus let me know about the subtype of the same, since commonest is ALS ( amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) or any other terminology given.
2. As the pathology is mainly degenerative thus any family history of the same??
3. In Ayurveda I usually manage my patient(s) on the line of Vata Kshaya Roga since Vata is mainly concerned with Nervous System and Neuroligical disease(s), and yes do have result oriented medicine for the same. If interested I can courier you the same.

1. Since I’m in government Job thus working in dispensary [rural area] and not in a hospital, thus I can help you with necessary precautions regarding oral medications and can guide you regarding Panchakarma procedure.
2. While doing government job, you cannot simultaneously run Clinic
3. In best interest, kindly start with the oral medicine(s) which I’ll courier since you will get to know the effect of the same, till Panchakarma Procedures are started.
4. As Monsoon has arrived early thus I would recommend you to go for panchkarma near your hometown [with matra vasti [medicated enema], sarvanga abhyanga [ oleation, massage], and bashpa Sweda [steam bath]
5. Since shilajit is one of the medicine implicated in myopathic diseases and also is Mansa vilekhana [muscle scratching] thus is to be avoided.
