What Causes Temporal Lobe Seizures, Headache, Stomach Pain And Blurry Vision?
Are you followed by a neurologist and are your seizures CONFIRMED?
Detailed Answer:
Good morning. Thank you for asking this question. May I ask a rather silly question but from what you write I really can't tell the answer....but are you being followed by a neurologist who is trying you on different medications? Also, has your seizure disorder been confirmed by way of a POSITIVE EEG STUDY or VIDEO RECORDING?
It almost sounds that the person making decisions for your medications and so forth is your ENT doctor.
If that's the case then, I would definitely like to recommend that you place yourself into contact with at least a neurologist if not an EPILEPTOLOGIST. It is very unusual for temporal lobe seizures as you describe to be entirely unresponsive to what are considered first line drugs due to overpowering side effects.
Also, what would the purpose of a CT scan be? I'm assuming that due to your seizures
If you have a copy of the EEG report that you received you can upload that to the system so I can read it. Also, there are a number of other medications which I believe you could try that may not result in your being reactive or ill that your doctor can consider such as KEPPRA, DEPAKOTE, TEGRETOL, AND OXCARBAZEPINE. This is not even an exhaustive list. Venlafaxine can actually risk tripping off seizures so I would ask the doctor who prescribed if this medication could be switched to something that has a lower risk in terms of causing seizures. There are also a couple of newer agents that are usually very successful for temporal lobe seizure types such as VIMPAT.
I hope this addresses your concerns and that you'll keep me in mind for future questions regarding these or other neurological/medical issues. Feel free to upload images if you'd like.
Otherwise, I'd appreciate your rating this interaction with a HIGH STAR SCORE and look forward to a few words of feedback. In addition, I'd appreciate your CLOSING THIS QUERY if you're satisfied with my response.
