What Causes Temporary Mental Confusion?

default
Posted on Fri, 5 May 2017
Question: I am experiencing thought confusion. I am at home now and could drive ok but my thoughts and memories for the last couple of hours seem to be confused. I have been handling a product today for cloths moths by Terro, Cloths Moth Alert. But it is suppose to be non toxic and there are no warnings on the label and pesticide free. It's just my thoughts from the last couple of hours are jumbled.

Brief Answer:
To check for ischemia attack

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
I'm Dr. Shuba Hariprasad and will be answering your query today.

Would you clarify a few things for me, please?
*how do you feel now?
*How long were you exposed to the moth balls?
*do you have nausea, vomiting, or fatigue? Any stomach pain?
*do you have any other medical issues or take any medications?
*do you smoke or consume alcohol?
*have you had any surgeries in the past?
*any recent illness or travel?
*have you been in the sun/heat for a long while?

Based on your symptoms, I would like to rule out an ischemic attack (lack of proper blood supply to the brain). The exposure to moth balls is unlikely to have caused the memory trouble. Even so, the lack of exposure currently should make you feel better by now

I recommend :
-a physician consult right away. A complete neurological assessment
-a ct scan of the brain.
-electrocardiogram and Echocardiogram.
-blood tests (complete blood count, electrolyte levels, serum creatinine, blood sugar levels )
-urine analysis

Based on these and clinical findings, a diagnosis can be made.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health.

Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad

Brief Answer:
If better now, nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the follow up and clarifications.
HCG diet has been associated with symptoms such as poor concentration, fatigue among others.

Dehydration (moderate to severe) can also cause your symptoms.

Am glad that you are doing much better.

*were you exposed to moth balls before you had th stomach pain?
*were you on hcg injections?
*how much weight did you lose and how fast?
*have you had a general check up in the past 6 months?

If you feel back to yourself, then nothing to worry about. If not, or if symptoms recur / persists/worsen, please see you doctor immediately.

Try not to touch mothballs or inhale its fumes especially indoors.

Hope I've been of help. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health.
Regards,
Dr. Shuba Hariprasad
