What Causes Tender And Erect Nipple Along With Weight Loss?

Question: Im a little nervous to ask my pcp so here goes. I have lost 70lbs since XXXXXXX and in the last month noticed that my nipples hurt all the time and are erect 95% of the time when they didnt use to be. Is this because of weightloss or ?

Tender and erect nipple is unlikely to be related to weight loss. If there is no associated redness or discharge or any palpable lump it's unlikely to be due to any significant cause .
It is likely to be due to
1. Related to menstrual cycle : Many individual experience nipple to be painful and erect usually during and after ovulation. It is more likely to be hormonal

2. Dryness of nipple

3. Vitamin deficiency

I would suggest you the following

1. Breast Self Examination : It will help you ruling out any significant problem (very unlikely )
2. Local application of cocoa butter or moisturising cream to nipple will be helpful
3. Preferably wear cotton braziere
4. Oral Multivitamin supplements
