When did you first notice the swelling ?

Is it bony hard to touch ?

Does the swelling decrease in size in lying down and increase in coughing ?

Is there a dark spot on the top of the swelling ?

There could be many causes for such a swelling, ranging from bone tumour from the iliac bone to a hernia from your abdomen. But based on your current description, the two close possibilities that I consider are hernia and sebaceous cyst. Answers to aforementioned questions will help me understand it more.

In the meanwhile if it hurts, it is best you apply a cold pack and take pain killers
