1 a day 500mg. I have noticed a little tenderness in tendon around foot but I do feel better since taking
it. Would you advise to stop? I have another prescription for augmentin..
Continue quinolones

Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. Levofloxacin is the drug of choice in old age respiratory tract infections and work like charm. It has this adverse effect of tendonitis mostly near ankle joint like your case. However weighing benefits with adverse effects i would suggest continue with levofloxacin and take some anti inflammatory for the tendonitis. Topical application of NSAIDS or oral intake both will be fine. Avoid strenuous work or excessive pressure over the ankle as that may cause ligament and tendon rupture.
Augmentin can also be used for the problem but i wont recommend switching antibiotics in the middle as it increase the odds of resistance in future and is not wise unless necessary. Your case has more pros than cons of using quinolones and should not be stopped and continued for the 10 days.
I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
