What Causes Terrible Leg Cramps At Night, Numbness In Shins And Toes?
Question: I get terrible leg cramps at night, and my shins and toes are often numb. I also get cramps in my hands sometimes. i am 58, female. I work out 3-5 times a week--30-45 min a day plus walking daily-- am not dehydrated, and am not overweight. I am chronically anemic so take extra iron. I also take lots of vitamin D (live in Alaska) and K2. Should I be concerned about the numbness and cramps?
Brief Answer:
Can be corrected with proper supplements.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The numbness and cramps with no dehydration can be due to methylcobalamin deficiency or electrolyte imbalance. This can be corrected with a few supplements after proper blood tests.
You also need to get your thyroid and blood glucose levels evaluated to find the cause. Do consult your physician for proper treatment.
I hope this answers your query.
