Question: My granddaughter is 18 and has been having terrible stomach pain. This has been going on for over 3 weeks. She also has a headache all the time. Also muscle weakness. She cant eat because it makes it worse. She is losing weight. She hasn't lost consciousness but felt like she was going to, and her vision started to go into tunnel vision. After she threw up it was better but the pain never goes away. She also has low back pain. She doesn't drink or smoke or do drugs.

Brief Answer:
Symptoms likely to be due to acid peptic disease

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Ms

Feeling of loosing consciousness and tunnel vision is likely to be due to Hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar levels ). Hypoglycaemia is likely to be due to reduced intake of nutrition.

Pain which increases after eating food , following possibility needs to be considered and ruled out by detailed clinical examination

1. Acid peptic disease with associated gastric ulcer

2. Stress and Anxiety

Associated headache and loss of appetite definitely suggest anxiety as one of the underlying factors. I would suggest you to consult your physician for further clinical examination and assessment. In the meantime I would suggest you the following

1. Ensure good intake of water : 2 to 3 liter a day

2 Give small quantity of meals frequently

3. Avoid carbonated / caffeinated beverage

3 Avoid fried food .

4. Acid Suppressant like Pantoprozole along with antiemetic like Domperidone which are OTC will provide much needed relief

5. Ensure adequate sleep: uninterrupted sleep of 6 to 8 hours will be helpful

6. Give her fresh fruits and fruit juice.

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Take care
