What Causes Testicular Pain In A Child?
Question: my eight year old son is complaining of testicular pain he does not have a fever and has not vomitted. I gave him ibuprofen for the pain and he said it did not help him. The pain started around 8:30 this morning and it just came on suddenly.
Brief Answer:
take him to emergency
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
He could have a testicular torsion. This is a twisting of the testicle on the cords and is very serious. It of course could be from other causes but he needs to see a doctor as soon as possible because if it is torsion and it is not corrected soon he could lose that testicle. Please get him seen immediately

if it is testicular torsion would he be in a lot of pain? he only complains of pain when walking
Brief Answer:
yes
Detailed Answer:
Testicular torsion when it is complete is very painful. Still he needs to be checked. If he is in no pain at all when sitting or lying down it can probably wait until tomorrow. My concern for torsion was increased when you said that the ibuprofen did not help. Most causes of testicular pain would be improved with ibuprofen but torsion would not.
