What Causes Testicular Pain When Diagnosed With GERD?

default
Posted on Tue, 28 Jul 2015
Question: Doctor, I have been diagnosed with GERD and I take Dexilant for it. sometimes when I have acidity problems, I get pain in one of my testicles. I went to a uroligist and he wasn't able to find any issues. I went to a gastrologist and he could not find anything that would cause the testicular pain. The pain goes away if I forcibly throw up whatever I have in my stomach. I know I shouldn't do it but sometimes the pain is unbearable. I don't want to forcibly throw up any longer. what should I do ?

Brief Answer:
Not directly linked

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
There is no direct relationship between GERD and testicular pain. However few cases have been reported in literature with no obvious cause.
If you have no local pathology of testis examined by ultrasound also then nothing to worry about.
For GERD you need to take H.pylori infection treatment once.
Hope you will benefit from this.

Brief Answer:
Get ultrasound and change the drug

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
It may be at times of dyspepsia and GERD your discomfort and anxiety may have increased pressure in abdomen and some testicular pain .
You can get and ultrasound of abdomen and testis to look for any pathology.
You can try proton pump inhibitor with domperidone also.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
