Question: What causes the body to give off an acidic musty odor that seems to come through the pores mainly when I sweat or air blows on the skin. This smell is not all the time but I smell it but other people say they cannot smell it. Even my doctor says she did not smell it. I am pre diabetics and have hypothyroidism.

Brief Answer:
about sweaty odor;

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your concern.
If the blood tests have been done lately and has confirmed that everything is under control (Glucose values still suggesting for prediabetes, thyroid hormones within the normal ranges, renal function normal etc) and you do not have other symptoms except of this odor of the sweat, i think it is due to alterations of hydration.

There are periods when you drink less and depending on sweat concentration the odor may change.
The yeast may be another option.

So, that is not suggestive for any specific problem if the pathologies above are under control.

Best wishes,
Dr.Mirjeta
