What Causes The Feeling Of A Protrusion From Anus During Defecation?

For about a year it feels like something pops out of my butt when pooping but it retracts on its own when I'm done. This can be with any kind if stool (regular, hard or diarrhea). I have celiac and noticed an change in the shape of my stool so my gastro ordered a colonoscopy. I'm 39 yr old female and my colonoscopy came back clean. I even asked if my doctor noticed hemorrhoids and he said none were visible. I have had three vaginal births, youngest being 3 yo. Could this be a hemorrhoid?
Thanks.
Hemorrhoids is a possibility

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
Something that pops out during pooping and reduces on its own when you are done could be any of the following.
1. Internal hemorrhoids
2. Polyps
3. Rectal prolapse
Of these internal hemorrhoids is the most likely cause. Polyps and rectal prolapse most often are to be reduced manually and may not reduce on their own.
I would advise you see your doctor again for a digital rectal examination and an anoprotoscopy test. During the procedure you need to strain so that the lesion pops out. During colonoscopy your doctor would have missed it and also he would not have requested you to strain during examination.
I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.
