What Causes The Inability To Open Mouth After Chewing Gutka?
You need to be evaluated by dental surgeon.
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX, Hi
I can understand your problem.
After having gone through your symptoms and the habit of chewing Gutkha (although you claimed to have stopped taking it) I am of the opinion that you are most probably suffering from a condition referred to as "Oral submucous fibrosis" which is a chronic, progressive & scarring precancerous condition of the oral cavity causing you difficulty in opening the mouth, etc.
It appears to have caused by chewing Gutkha (mixture of powdered areca nut and tobacco).
It is precancerous condition to be checked by a dental surgeon. He will suggest you the best thing for you and may be he will take a biopsy sample of the lesion for histo-pathological check up.
Treatment is surgery which is successful only if the lesion is diagnosed early and in advanced cases surgery followed by radiation therapy is done.
Meanwhile you can apply local anesthetic gels before having your food.
Maintain good oral hygiene.
Strictly avoid Gutka or tobacco in any form.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX, Hi
Good morning!
Glad to know that you are able to open your mouth up to THREE fingers and do not have any problems in taking even spicy foods.
My opinion is you should have a proper dental examination to for an early detection of "Oral submucous fibrosis" and if found should be treated in the early stage itself.
Hope to have answered your query.
