Brief Answer:
anemia is a potential cause...

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

deep breaths (involuntarily) can be caused by various disorders. Anemia is one of them. Other causes include acidosis (usually related to kidney malfunction), infection, psychological causes (panic attacks), bronchial asthma, etc.

The very low hemoglobin value is a good enough reason to justify your symptom. Anemia requires investigation for its cause. Colonoscopy is one of the tests only. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, various blood tests (mostly reticulocytes, lactic dehydrogenase, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, serum protein electrophoresis, etc) and bone marrow testing would provide a good idea about the cause. Hemorrhoids, other types of blood loss (including hematuria), iron deficiency due to inappropriate diet are common causes.

If you'd like to upload your reports it would help me to get a better idea about your case.

I hope you find my comments helpful!
Kind Regards!
