Brief Answer:
Can be due to local trauma.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The thick discharge with a brown tinge can be due to several things. Maybe there is a mild hormonal imbalance or cervical inflammation or polyp or it could be just due to some local trauma.
It can also be due to vaginal infections like Chlamydia, gonorrhea or trichomoniasis, vaginal inflammation, disease of endometrium that is lining of uterus, polyps (mass) in uterus and cervix, fibroid tumor or endometritis.
Sometimes this is harmless, but sometimes it’s an alarming sign of serious problem.
You should wait for this to subside spontaneously in next few days and if this pink or brown tinge persists then you should consult a gynecologist who will physically examine the local area and may consider tests like pap smear, ultrasound uterus and hormonal assay.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

There as been very little little discharge today, and notcolour tint... what else should I look for to make sure this is not very serious \
It was clear and could stretch it between my fingers not cloud or thick
Brief Answer:
No serious issue likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Since the discharge has reduced spontaneously any serious issue is not likely. You can consult your gynecologist in case the discharge is recurrent ; associated with a foul smell; fever; burning micturition or there is change in the color of the discharge.
Hope my answer is helpful.

Brief Answer:
Yes.
Detailed Answer:
Yes it can happen due to ovulation also. In that case the pinkish discharge stops on its own in a day or two.
