Welcome at HCM..
I appreciate your health concerns.....
For how long it is there? Is there any associated problem like heart burn and mouth ulcer? Do you feel any difficulty in opening mouth? Is slaiva production reduced?do you feel pain? Is there any red patches or white patches on the tongue? Any lymph node enlargement? Any drug intake history?any history tongue cancer in family? Any history of smoking? Any bumps in tongue you noted? Any history of diabetes , HCV HBV or HIV?
As far as history is concerned, if it is not having pain then there is no need to worry. You should stay calm and continue with your routine chores. And don't try clear it with brush , use saline gargles three times a day.
If there is ulceration or Decrease in slaiva production, red or white plaques then you should definitely seek ENT surgeon. There is need to answer above questions before a reasoned conclusion can be drawn.
Most commonly it is either due to dehydration or drug use or vitamin deficiency.
Meet your doctor for clinical correlation.
Hope it helps
