What Causes Thinning Of Hair And Hair Loss While On BHRT Testosterone Therapy?
Question: Hi, I was put on BRHT testosterone therapy for 5 months. After a couple of months, I notice the fornt of my scalp was seeming to be a bit thinner as I could see more of my scalp. I have zero baldness in my family for generations and have never worried about it. I have read numerous articles in conjunction with the use of testoserone therapy and hair loss. I have quit my therapy and am wonderig if my hair will begin to regrow now that the problem has been removed? Ive also heard of using propecia and rogaine, but I dont have a male pattern baldness problem, rather the increase in testoerone that appears to be the culprit.
Brief Answer:
Androgenic Alopecia
Detailed Answer:
Good day.
noted your concern. Thinning of the scalp hair especially the front and sides of forehead part of scalp is called as male pattern baldness or androgenic alopecia. It is due to the action of male hormone testosterone. In your case it seems to be the case.
Once you stop using the testosterone , the hair loss may stop but lost hair may not completely come back.
You may have to use drugs or shampoos which contain Minoxidil. Please meet a dermatologist.
