What Causes Thorat Pain After Taking Zoloft?

Clinical review, Zoloft induced gastritis, side ef
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,
I ma afraid pain in the throat is not a common or regular side effect of Zoloft. It might be necessary to know if you have experienced any running nose or coryza (rhinitis) lately, or if you have any fever or headaches. It is possible that this could be a throat infection (pharyngitis) that requires appropriate evaluation and management.
A well carried out throat examination by your primary care physician would orient in making an appropriate diagnosis. Based on the characterized, it is possible that it could be a viral or bacterial infection, and in this case would require anti infammatory drugs and / Or anti biotics.
Stomach and upper back pain could be an indication of stomach irritation by the drug. This is the classical presentation of gastritis. In case the pain is above your navel and actually goes to the back, it is an indication that this could be Zoloft related gastritis. You might have to stop the drug, take an Antacid (Maalox, Phosphalogel) and a proton pump inhibitor (omeprazole).
I strongly feel you deserve a careful clinical review by a medical doctor. It is difficult to associate this to Zoloft.
However, feeling as to vomit or loss of appetite is a common side effect of Zoloft, which often is not so severe, and fades within a couple of days.
I strongly suggest a review by your doctor. Kind regards as I wish you the best of health.
