What Causes Throat Pain While Swallowing?
Question: Since yesterday i am having tonsillitis slight pain on left inner side while swallowing, also my voice is changed due to weather change, could you please advice the line of treatment along with details like food to avoid/medicine to be taken, currently i am doing betadine gargles.
Brief Answer:
Tonsilopharyngitis
Detailed Answer:
HI Sir,
I have gone through your query, medicinal history; it suggests that most probably you may be suffering from the laryngopharyngitis. Change in voice may be due to the laryngitis.
In this condition in our patient I advise
1. Antibiotic Tablet containing cefuroxime and clavulanic acid 500 mg twice a day for 5 days.
2. Nasal local and systemic decongestant.
3. Steam inhalation and
Avoid gargles instead just put betadine in the mouth for few seconds and spit out. Gargles worsen the voice.
Avoid cold water, ice cream, prickles and cold drinks.
Better to consult the ENT specialist for better diagnosis and management.
Thanks
