What Causes Tingling And Shocking Sensation In Forearms During Urination?
Question: I have tingling or a feeling of electric shock in my forearms during urination. What causes this? My doctor is looking into possible Multiple Sclerosis. I am 79 years old.
Brief Answer:
It could be cervical myeloradiculopathy
Detailed Answer:
Hello madam,
Your symptom could point to a condition called cervical myeloradiculopathy which essentially means a problem in the neck part of your spinal cord. This could be due to many causes including multiple sclerosis(MS). But MS is less likely in view of your age and lack of other symptoms. I hope you do not have other symptoms like urinary retention, loss of vision, weakness in limbs etc. either now or in the past.
Cervical cord compression needs to be ruled out by getting an MRI of the neck.
