Brief Answer: Nerve conduction problem.B complex. Investigations Detailed Answer: Hi, I went through the query and understood your concern. With history of tingling or even pins and needles in left hand with no evidence of chest pain I want to rule out involvement of sensory nerves as it is the first differential diagnosis. You may be having a cervical spine problem and some sort of pressure over sensory nerve or even due to vitamin deficiency. For my patients with the similar complaints I prescribe B complex vitamin capsule with B6 and B12 specifically. This will help in nerve conduction and also relieve the symptoms. Do you have high BP, any breathlessness during work, or chest pain. If none of these present then I do not feel what you have could be related to the heart. So for the diagnosis I will suggest you to get your X-ray cervical spine, ECG, blood sugar and lipid levels just to rule out any associated conditions. Regular exercise with good nutritious diet will help you along with vitamin supplements. Hope this information help you. Feel free to ask if you have any further concerns, I will be glad to assist you. Wish you good health. Regards

I do not have any chest pain. I do see a cardiologist for a minor issue, premature heartbeat. Had EKG within past couple weeks, stress test and echo last year, all normal. I also wore a heart monitor for 14 days, no issues. BP, cholesterol, all normal. I take Metropopol for heart rate. I am actually due for my 18 month echo next week. I type all day on the computer for work and have had back issues in the past. I also have some mild numbness tingling in my midback are occassionally along with left shoulder / scapular area. Is is possible this is all related?

Brief Answer: vitamins, warm up exercises and rest. be relaxed Detailed Answer: Hi. Thanks for more information. Be relaxed. Since your all cardiac tests are normal the problem cannot be due to problem in heart. Your heart is absolutely normal and no need to worry for it. Based on your work history with previous numbness and tingling in back, left scapular and shoulder region , the most probable cause is involvement of nerve. This may be nutrition deficiency as explained before or due to pressure of other problem to the nerves. So continue Vit B6 and B12 vitamins on regular basis and also start your day with good warm up exercises. Mean time if symptoms does not improve then get scanned at the cervical region to check for any pressure effects to the nerves. Take atleast 5- 10 min break for every hour and continue other drug. Have nutritious food. THESE WILL HELP YOU. Wish you faster recovery and good health. Feel free to ask if any further queries. Regards
