What Causes Tingling On Tongue After Eating Food?
Question: Sometimes after eating I feel a little tingling on the side of my tongue. Also it can be on the inside of my cheeks. I can't pinpoint any foods that trigger this...the only thing they have in common is sugar. This has been happening on and off for a year. Otherwise in great health...24 years old..Some times I wonder if it could be anxiety or stress related....or am I having an allergic reaction
Brief Answer:
Get checked for GERD...
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Tingling on the side of your tongue could be related to:
- reflux (GERD)
- anxiety/stress related
- psychological/neurological
The very first thing I suggest is to consult with a gastroenterologist to rule out reflux first. If no reflux, then, might be related to stress/anxiety or psychological.
Hope it helped! Do write me back if you have further questions!
