What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Forehead Radiating To The Scalp?
Different possible causes.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Tingling is commonly due to abnormal nerve function which is called neuropathy. Other abnormal sensations such as burning, sharp sticking pain, numbness etc are also related to neuropathy.
Neuropathy can be temporary or permanent and there are different possible causes. In many cases, it is not serious.
There are many different causes, in some persons, the cause is not found.
Some causes are-
(1) infection such as shingles. If there is a previous history of chickenpox then it is possible that the symptoms may be due to an outbreak of shingles.
(2) low levels of vitamin B12 or folate
(3) liver or kidney disease
(4) diabetes
(5) trauma to the nerves eg arthritis of the neck
(6) thyroid disease
(7) exposure to toxins
(8) abnormal levels of vitamin b6
(9) autoimmune diseases eg RA or lupus
(10) nerve condition such as ms - not common
If it continues, then you can consider seeing your doctor for an assessment.
This would include physical assessment and possibly blood tests.
Hope I have answered your query.
