What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Toes?
Neuropathy is a possibility.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.
I've gone through your details.
I am Dr Kumar and would be addressing your concerns
Numbness and tingling means that there is some problem in communication of signals from central nerves(brain and spinal cord) to peripheral nerves which supplies to individual parts.
As in your case numbness is not localized(over a specific part) and is generalized i.e from tooth to toe the problem can be there in transmission of signal at a level above spinal cord.
Brain relays signals to spinal cord. From spinal cord these signals are distributed to various segments like arms abdomen leg etc at various levels.Since in your case its almost involving the complete body at a time most likely culprit can be at the level of brain.
Some times the body can also go through bouts of periodic numbness and tingling due to certain health issues such as anxiety or the onset of a migraine. So my suggestion is initially to be on safe side go for MRI brain(to rule out any age related changes)
MRI spine to rule out neuropathy(nerve damage due to age)
A fasting and post parandial blood sugar level.
Rx
Start taking Cyanacobalamine vitamin B12 1500mcg once daily for 1 month some times nerves in body looses their covering called myelin sheat due to lack of cyanacobalamine.
