What Causes Tiredness After Taking Effexor And Lamictal?

default
Posted on Thu, 19 Jan 2017
Question: In the last week or two I have been getting a tired, "stoned" feeling in the mid-morning or afternoon. It seems to follow an hour after my dose of effexor xr (37.5 mgs) and Lamictal (50mg morning/50 evening). I have been taking this since the summer and I would get tired in the afternoon, but not quite like this. I feel like I took a heavy sedative.

I have been taking .5/1mg of lorazepam and melatonin to fight insomnia from these meds for about three months. I'm not sure if this is contributing to it, but I feel better if I take ritalin or adderal. Not an ideal solution

I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I take the ativan at night...to sleep... because the Effexor and lamictal interfere with my sleep. So, taking them at night is not an option.

I am just confused because the dizzy, tired feeling comes a little later in the day, so I can't imagine that it's left over from the evening ativan dose.

I forgot to mention that I was taking 10mgs Vyvanse for nearly three months also for concentration and sleepiness. My classes are done so I now I take the vyvanse a day or two per week as needed.
