What Causes Tiredness After Walking Inspite Of Dieting?
I'm a 23 year old female who weighs 69 kgs. To be short, am actually out of shape. In order to shed those extra pounds, I've been using treadmill for a week from today. I walk on it 30 mins every day at a speed of 6. I also run for every 2 mins.
With a controlled diet [more fibre, less or nil carbs] , my inch tape could witness some changes in my waist. Problem is that I feel absolutely tired after walking on treadmill everyday (sleepy most of the time as a result of which am unable to concentrate at work). This makes me yawn multiple times a day. For the past two days, I even felt mild shortness of breath.
Now am afraid to continue using treadmill. If I stop, my weight is going to hike up for sure. Please advise.
Carbs are IMPORTANT!
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX, Thanks for coming to HealthCareMagic. I admire your determination and perseverance. I believe though that your diet and exercise strategy is a bit flawed. Carbohydrates are a VERY integral part of our (ie Human) metabolic makeup. They are energy molecules that are used in times of exercise and they are also the ONLY source of energy for neural tissue (ie the brain). So what you are doing now on this ZERO carb diet is you are starving your brain of energy and throwing your body into a crisis state (ie High Corticosteroid release state) by going on the treadmill.
This is not a sustainable method of weightloss because as soon as you reintroduce carbohydrates into your diet... your body will be primed to convert them into fat and store them thinking that you are facing starvation.
I believe a much better, longer term strategy would be to alow carbs to supplement about 20-30% of the diet, 10-15% from fat and the rest from protein and exercise lightly every day. Allow those carbs to be used so you are healthy enough to sustain the regime.
Our dieticians here can help you make a diet plan and exercise plan which will help get you results in a sustainable and gradual manor without shocking your system.
I hope this helps. Feel free to follow-up on this is any thing else on your mind.

Speed is less important than heart rate
Detailed Answer:
For people in you mothers and father age. The best thing to do is for them to monitor their heart rate as they excercise. They should aim to keep their heart rate between 110 and 135 while they are on the treadmill for 20 minutes continuously then slow down and rest.
Even this is pretty difficult so they need to start slow and work their way up to the heart rate.
Anyways. Dont worry so much about speed. Think about heart rate instead
My next query is about my mouth wound. I get it once in 3 months. When ever I get it, the wound will be coupled with one/two wounds nearby the first wound. Based on a suggestion, I took Riboflavin vitamin tablets for continuous three days after every meal. Now my wound doesn't hurt me but it is still there. I would like to know the causes of wound and about the dosage of riboflavin I could take in a day.
Apthous Ulcer
Detailed Answer:
H, Thanks for following up. It sounds like the wound you are describing is an Apthous ulcer. These are common benign mouth ulcers that shoud go away with the application of a topical steroid. But to be very honest... A dentist is the BEST person to see the lesion and decide on what treatment should be given.
I would strongly encourage you to show the ulcers to a dentist when they are present.
Hope this helps.
