Question: My child's tongue is peeling and sore, she had a sore throat and fever last week, fever has now gone down but has chesty cough and diarrhoea, and saying her legs are aching

2. Apart having chesty cough, is she having sputum or just dry coughing?
3. The first symptoms are due to viral infection, while it might have been complicated with bacterial infection. A good physical examination is required to check her lungs.
4. Diarrhea is s common symptom of viral gastroenteritis, which is also accompanying the upper respiratory tract infection caused by the virus.
I advise to :
- give her plenty of water to keep her well hydrated. Can mix with otc ors to replace the lost fluids
- pepto bismol or tasectan can help stop diarrhea
- give her probiotics to optimize intestinal flora
if no improvement or symptoms will get worse, then immediate medical help is advised.
